The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory consisting of 3 islands — Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. These Caribbean islands are located south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica.
I’d visited Grand Cayman a couple of times on cruises but this was my first time staying on the island. To put it mildly, I totally loved it.
The beaches were fantastic, the water was clear and warm, and the people were all so friendly. I especially loved the resort we stayed at (scroll down for more info on that) and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Family-Friendly Things To Do In Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman is a great spot for a family vacation with kids. Here are some of the fun things to do on the island.
Explore Seven Mile Beach
Seven Mile Beach is often named one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, if not the world. It has soft white sand, crystal clear water, and extends for over 5 miles (nope, seven-mile beach isn’t actually 7 miles long).
We had so much fun exploring the beach for shells, playing in the sand, and snorkeling right off the beach. Our hotel offered banana boat tours and kayaks and both were fun ways to explore the water with kids.
Swim With Stingrays
I had previously visited Stingray City to swim with stingrays on a cruise so we didn’t do that on this trip, but it is a popular activity for first-time visitors to the island.
There are lots of tours that visit Stingray City including private excursions and tours that include snorkeling.
Other Activities in Grand Cayman
Here are some additional tours and activities you can find on the island of Grand Cayman.

- Cayman Honey Beekeeping Adventure

Scuba Diving In Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman offers excellent scuba diving. During our trip, we did a couple of 2-tank dives with Red Sail Sports. It was so convenient since they picked us up right from the beach in front of our hotel.
There’s reef, wall, and wreck diving around the island. We visited sites like Paradise Reef, the Kittiwake wreck, and Trinity Caves.

It’s a family-friendly resort with a pool and kid’s club. Plus it’s directly on the beach so you don’t have to walk far to get your toes in the sand. Every room at this resort has a balcony and most have beautiful ocean views.

Final Thoughts
Grand Cayman is a family-friendly Caribbean destination that offers gorgeous beaches, beautiful weather, and fantastic kid-friendly activities. It’s easy to access from the U.S., the official language is English, and U.S. dollars are widely accepted so it’s also an easy place to visit.
